Chinua Achebe

In 1998, in my capacity as photographer, I joined then Howard University professor R. Victoria Arana to visit Nigeria’s foremost author Chinua Achebe at his New York home in the vicinity of Bard College where he was the tenured Charles P. Stevenson Professor of Language and Literature. Professor Arana was meeting Achebe for an interview which became the Callaloo article,“The Epic Imagination: A Conversation with Chinua Achebe at Annandale-on-Hudson.The photo above, my favorite from our session, was published with the piece.
